Signature legalization: how it works

A legalized signature proves that YOU signed. That is precisely why the law refuses shortcuts: the notary must witness the signature or your acknowledgment of it โ€” in person.

Why presence is mandatory

The notary certifies identity and authorship of the signature. Without your physical presence and ID, the certification would be worthless โ€” Swiss law therefore does not allow it by mail or video for these acts.

What actually happens

You show your ID, sign (or acknowledge your signature) before the notary, the notary affixes the legalization clause and seal. With a prepared file, the appointment takes 10โ€“15 minutes.

How we remove the friction

We check your document beforehand, book a partner notary near you or in Crissier, and hand over a ready file. You come once, sign once, and delivery plus scan follow automatically.

Typical uses

Powers of attorney, bank and inheritance forms, foreign administrative forms, sworn declarations โ€” anywhere an authority wants certainty that the signature is genuinely yours.
